I love travelling, exploring and getting outdoors...but I always seem to think that to do this I've got to travel 6000 miles to another country to get my adventure fix. I couldn't be more wrong!
This year I'm challenging myself to explore the beautiful areas that are more local to me, not just in the UK but even closer to home. I've lived in Leeds/Yorkshire for almost 9 years now...and the list of places I'm yet to visit is a bit too long! When my husband suggested a day out at Brimham Rocks I have to admit...I wasn't 100% sold that it would be that much fun....and yet again I was proven to be wrong. For someone who likes to think they are right all of the time...I'm getting good at being wrong in this blog!
All of a 50 minute drive out of my street and there we were, and I've got to admit it was absolutely beautiful! We lucked in for an afternoon of sunshine between many rainy days, and managed to find little pockets of quiet places amongst the business of the families visiting for a day out in the school holidays. It was lovely to see so many families and little ones climbing and running and having fun in such a beautiful outdoor location!
The day definitely inspired me to look more locally for my fix of the great outdoors. I've now got a list as long as my arm of places to visit in upcoming months, most of which are within an hours drive!
I want to head back to Brimham rocks in the summer and it is now firmly placed on my list of shoot locations for couples and families so if anybody is interested in that please get in touch!
Here are a few snaps from the day...
