The beast from the east has been hit our little corner of Leeds this week, and so what better way to spend it than out in the snow, camera in hand, a stop off for a cosy pub lunch and sledging like a couple of kids?
My big resolution for myself this year was to get out with my camera on my days off and document my life a little more, so thats exactly what I've been doing! Despite some very cold hands I took my camera and my 35mm lens out for a walk. Me and my husband (that would be him on the sledge he built himself about 5 minutes before we left because why should children have all the fun?!) headed on down to Kirkstall for the afternoon. We took a stroll down the very frozen canal side, before heading to the wonderful Bridge Inn for lunch and a cheeky snow day drink and then carried on up to the beautiful ruins at Kirkstall Abbey where we spotted a few other sledge enthusiasts and even a few snowboarders!
It honestly felt like we were in another country! I'd love to hear what you guys have been up to on your snow days too so leave a comment and let me know!
Once the weather has calmed down I'll be booking some fun family shoots and on location portrait sessions...until then you will find me at my desk, in a big jumper with a constant supply of tea and biscuits! Because frankly, thats what cold weather days are all about!
