Having recently planned and held my own wedding, I have to applaud any couple who undertakes any DIY on their big day. So when I was asked to photograph Darecca & Stefans wedding, and realised not only were they doing the whole day DIY...but the bride was making her own dress, I knew this was going to be one to remember!
I've been fortunate enough to work with Darecca on shoots for her clothing line Dazarockz several times over the last few years, so I knew this was going to be a creative, fun, and visually stunning wedding...and I was right!
The colour scheme was silver metallics, mixed with natural elements and all held in a beautiful marquee on the grooms family farm. The ceremony was help outside with hay bales for guests to sit on and a beautiful homemade arch way for the dos to be exchanged beneath.
Of course it wouldn't be an outdoor wedding in England without a bit of rain, and just as the group shots were almost done the heavens opened. Even rain couldn't dampen anyones spirits though, and the evening do led to some of the most impressive moves I've seen at a wedding in a long time!
From the favours to the photo wall, every detail was personal, handmade and thoughtful. But more about the fashion! The bridesmaids and flower girls dresses, the groomsmen's waistcoats and of course the brides dress were all custom made by the bride herself, and couldn't have looked more perfect! Darecca's dress was a gorgeous shade of silver, with beautiful appliqués and two skirt options to be dramatic in the day time and dance floor ready in the evening!
This wedding was a DIY dream with every little detail planned to perfection, congratulations to you both! A big thank you to my extremely talented second shooter for the day Olivia Whittaker.
